We collect anonymous data from every visitor of the Application to monitor traffic and fix bugs. We automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser or device, which may include your IP address, device identification, “cookie” information, the type of browser and/or device you’re using to access our Services, and the page or feature you requested. “Cookies” are identifiers we transfer to your browser or device that allow us to recognize your browser or device and tell us how and when pages and features in our Services are visited and by how many people. For example, we collect information like web requests, the data sent in response to such requests, the Internet Protocol address, the browser type, the browser language, and a time stamp for the request.
You can view, change and remove your data associated with your profile. Should you choose to delete your account, please contact us at email@example.com and we will follow up with such request as soon as possible. You can also modify your notification preferences by clicking the appropriate link included in your profile section.
Use of the Data
We only use your personal information to provide you the Schoolmojo services or to communicate with you about the services or the Application.
With respect to any photos or comments you may choose to upload to Schoolmojo, we take the privacy and confidentiality of such materials seriously. We employ industry standard techniques to protect against unauthorized access of data about you that we store, including personal information. Your photos and comments are yours and we will remove them from our site at your request.
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. All supplied sensitive information is transmitted between users and Schoolmojo via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and encrypted.
We do not share personal information you have provided to us without your consent, unless:
- doing so is appropriate to carry out a user’s request
- we believe it’s needed to enforce our Terms of Service, or that is legally required
- we believe it’s needed to detect, prevent or address fraud, security or technical issues
- otherwise protect our property, legal rights, or that of others
Schoolmojo is operated from India. If you are visiting the Application from outside India, you agree to any processing of any personal information you provide us according to this policy.
Schoolmojo may contact you, by SMS or email or other means. For example, Schoolmojo may send you promotional emails or SMS notifications relating to Schoolmojo or other third parties Schoolmojo feels you would be interested in, or communicate with you about your use of the Schoolmojo Application. Schoolmojo may also use technology to alert us via a confirmation email or message when you open an email or SMS from us.
Sharing of Data
We don’t share your personal information with third parties. Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to help us improve the Schoolmojo Application and service. We currently use Google Analytics (traffic analysis, SEO optimization), Amazon (file storage), Dropbox (optional user file storage), GitHub (software development platform) and Mailchimp (mailing list management). We listed below what data these third parties extract automatically. Feel free to check out their own Privacy Policies to find out more.
- Google Analytics: anonymous (ad serving domains, browser type, demographics, language settings, page views, time/date), pseudonymous (IP address)
- Mailchimp: name and email of our beta subscription list
We also use social buttons provided by services like Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Google+, Facebook etc. Your use of these third-party services is entirely optional. We are not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices of these third-party services, and you are responsible for reading and understanding those third-party services’ privacy policies.
We do not rent or sell your Personal Information in personally identifiable form to anyone, provided that certain Personal Information may be transferred in connection with business transfers, as described below. We may share your Personal Information with third parties as described in this section:
Affiliate Businesses: In certain situations, businesses or third-party websites we’re affiliated with may sell or provide products or services to you through or in connection with the Services (either alone or jointly with us). You can recognize when an affiliated business is associated with such a transaction or service, and we will share your Personal Information with that affiliated business only to the extent that it is related to such transaction or service.
Agents, Vendors & Partners: We employ other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your information with them to provide products or services to you or to share relevant marketing offers specific to you; for example, we may use a payment processing company to receive and process your credit card transactions for us. Unless we tell you differently, our agents do not have any right to use the Personal Information we share with them beyond what is necessary to assist us.
User Profiles and Submissions: Certain user profile information, including your name, location, and any comments or video or image content that such user has uploaded to the Services, may be displayed to other users to facilitate user interaction within the Services or address your request for our services. Your username may also be displayed to other users if and when you send messages or comments or upload images or videos through the Services and other users can contact you through messages and comments.
Third party links: Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.
Google: Google’s advertising requirements can be summed up by Google’s Advertising Principles. They are put in place to provide a positive experience for users.
We have not enabled Google AdSense on our site but we may do so in the future.
Business Transfers: We may choose to buy or sell assets and may share and/or transfer customer information in connection with the evaluation of and entry into such transactions. Also, if we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, enter bankruptcy, or go through some other change of control, Personal Information could be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party.
Protection of Company and Others: We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information that we believe is necessary to comply with law or court order; enforce or apply our Terms & Agreement and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Company, our employees, our users, or others.
